As of 20 November 2020, the City of Espoo will publish coronavirus exposure figures for early childhood education and schools once a week. We will not publish the names of day care centres and small schools to protect the privacy of those concerned. We will publish the number of people exposed to the coronavirus. The information will be updated every Wednesday. However, the information will only be published on the website after the guardians of the exposed children, the exposed staff members, other staff members and the guardians of other children have been informed and the exposure chains have been traced.

This switch to a weekly publication rhythm will not affect the way in which the Infectious Disease Unit investigates exposure situations and informs those concerned. The Infectious Disease Unit will still identify the exposed persons and, if necessary, place them in quarantine. The publication of information once a week will free up the resources of the Infectious Disease Unit and the city’s communication team for their basic tasks.
